Met Barbara at Penn State, married and raised four boys -- Rob, Mike, Brian and Jason, in Upper Moreland, PA. Rob was a National Merit Scholar and graduated from Williams College in 1993 - its bicentennial year. Mike was a Penn State Scholar, graduating in 1997. Brian and Jason also graduated from Penn State.

Like me, Rob is a CPA (KPMG and E&Y while getting his MBA at NYU), but unlike me, he is still in corporate life – SVP at Radian Group since 2009, and formerly Capmark, where he was Chief Accounting Officer - North America. Mike is a FCAS and SVP at Munich Re in Princeton, where he is head of property underwriting. In 2007-08, he and his family lived in Munich. Jason is an adult probation officer for Bucks County. Brian struggled with bipolar disorder for a number of years until we lost him in August 2014.

Rob and Mike, along with their high school sweethearts, Suzanne and Deana, have given us seven grandkids, the first four, girls, to make up for our run of boys. A fifth girl, Hailey Anne, the youngest, was born July 26, 2011. They all live nearby in Abington and Horsham, so we get to see them a lot. Jason lives a little further away in Bedminster, between Doylestown and Quakertown, with his fiancee, Stacy, and their three dogs.

Since 1987, I have traded under the name of Quigley & Associates, insurance industry consultants – forensic accounting, auditing, litigation support, management advisory, and tax practice. Engagements include actuarial / commutation support services, advisory services to insolvent insurers, business valuations, expert witness services, MGA audits, reinsurance inspections and dispute resolution, Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and controls testing, and tax return preparation. For many years, I have also traveled throughout the United States on behalf of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners accrediting state insurance departments.

Licensed in Pennsylvania, and a member of a number of insurance industry societies. Former panelist of the American Arbitration Association, Reinsurance Association of America (RAA) Arbitrators' List and ARIAS-US arbitrator. Board member, John Heath & Company, Inc. Past-president of the Penn State Abington College Alumni Society (2004-2006). Smeal College Alumni Society mentor and Actuarial Science Club advisor.

Triple-bypass in 2007. Spend free time between engagements with grandchildren, doing volunteer work, web surfing, reading, politics, movies, gardening, cooking, and summer bungalow vacations in Ocean City, NJ.

School Story

Asked one of my granddaughters the other day how she liked high school (10th grade at Abington) and she told me she loves it, and then proceded to tell me she was able to switch out of World History and into Psychology, which was her first choice, originally. That reminded me of my first week as a senior. I went to Spanish 3, and the teacher, Miss Guala, asked me if I had a brother named Jim ... in Spanish! First day back to school and trying to trip me up already. Well, I marched myself down to the office after that first class and switched to Wood Shop ... made a chair that year.

Jeff, thank you for telling us how much Bill meant to you. We see the number of classmates no longer with us, but they are just numbers until memories are recalled and shared -- bringing them back to us one last time. I lost a son last year and I imagine the loss of a brother feels much the same. Take comfort in knowing that Bill is at peace in a better place.
