Louis Fifer

Taught public school music for 6 years in Hightstown, NJ and Haworth, NJ. Grades K-8. School Music programs Were being eliminated everywhere I looked; schools didn't want a tenured teacher on their hands. So I went into NYC and did vocal coaching and accompanying for two years and then got into publishing. Two years in Math, Science,Medicine books ( They were my worst subjects in school). Then I moved into Music Publishing and worked for 30 years in the Music Department at Oxford University Press (NY Office). I was Sales Rep for the NE and West coast areas, then I was Sales Manager, Finally I was Director of the Music Department for my last 4 years. I retired April 2010 when US Music Department was reverted back to office in England.

Went from Cheltenham to Westminster Choir College in Princeton , NJ. Got a Bachelor of Music Education degree in June of 1970, with a piano/organ major and voice minor. Took the odd courses toward a Masters, but never finished as I got out of teaching.
